Barranquilla is an industrial port and special district. It is a city and municipality located in northern Colombia.
The capital of the Atlántico Department, it is the largest industrial city and port on the Colombian Caribbean region and
the fourth largest city of Colombia. It lies strategically by the delta of the Magdalena River, serving as port for fluvial
and maritime transportation. It is also known as the cradle of Colombian aviation and as home to a very picturesque carnival.
Carnaval de Barranquilla is a carnival with traditions that date back to the 19th century. It takes place for four days preceding
Ash Wednesday. During the carnival the city of Barranquilla's normal activities are paralyzed because the city gets busy with
street dances, musical and masquerade parades. Barranquilla's Carnival is reputed for being second in size to Rio de Janeiro's
but is far less commercialized. The Barranquilla Carnival includes dances like the Spanish paloteo, African congo and indigenous
mico y micas. Many styles of Colombian music are also performed, most prominently cumbia, and instruments include drums and
wind ensembles. The Carnival of Barranquilla was proclaimed as one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage
of Humanity, during Olga Lucia Rodriquez carnival queen year. As a result of the city's lengthy tradition as a port of entry,
Barranquilla's culture is marked by a cosmopolitan streak, only comparable in the national context to Colombia's capital,
Bogotá. The city is home to numerous immigrant groups: Lebanese, Italian, German, Jewish, and Chinese. From its gastronomy
to the local Spanish accent, Barranquilla's culture is markedly different from the rest of the regions in the country. Men
from North America and Europe come to find latin wives after meeting online in barranquilla chat rooms with local latin
girls. El heraldo barranquilla has a latin personals classified section where you will see ads for single Barranquilla
women and chat latin sites. The carnival de barranquilla has beautiful latin women dancing plus thousands of
